Chance tolearn howto savealife
People in Perth will be able to take part in a Heartstart Discovery class later this month.
The free two-hour training session will be held from 10am until noon on Saturday, January 20.
The class will equip people to be able to perform emergency life support to keep someone alive until professional help arrives, giving a casualty the best possible chance of survival.
The Perth class will cover caring for an unconscious person who is breathing, and caring for an unconscious person who is not breathing and performing CPR.
It will also look at how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and how to deal with it, helping someone who is choking, and helping someone who is bleeding badly.
Helen Brady, Heartstart Discovery coordinator, said: “Emergency life support skills really do save lives so please consider registering for a session today. A Heartstart session could prove to be one of the most important training sessions you have ever undertaken in your life, so come along - you can make a difference.”
The two-hour classes are free of charge and no medical knowledge is required.
To join the class, contact Helen Brady on 01382 740400 or helenjbrady@nhs.net - the location of the class will be given at registration.
