Citizens Advice Bureau The next outreach advice surgery will be held on Tuesday, January 9 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, in St. Paul’s Church hall, The Muirs, Kinross. No appointment is necessary as the surgery is a drop-in service. For complex issues a further appointment may be necessary. Perth CAB Benefits Advice in Libraries service will resume on Wednesday, January 10 and Thursday, January 11. All sessions will start at 7.30pm in Kinross Parish Church on Station Road, Kinross with arts tutors from Horsecross. Enrolment fee costs £6 and £4 per session with concessions £3. No music reading or singing experience is necessary. All are welcome to go along and sing and have fun. Information Event An information event for the Local Development Plan 2 will be held on Wednesday, January 10 in Loch Leven community campus, at 3pm to 8pm. Kinross-shire Historical Society The society will next meet on Monday, January 15 in Kinross Parish Church on Station Road, Kinross, at 7.30pm. The speaker on the night will be David Munro from Kinross and District Town Twinning Association – “Town Twinning, Its Birth, Early Years and Maturity”. Rekindling of “The Auld Alliance” including culture, heritage and school exchanges. Membership costs: adults £6; over 60s £5; under 18s free; visitors £2 per talk.

Edradour Pitlochry and Blair Atholl Pipe Band The band will hold their annual general meeting in the Moulin Hotel on Wednesday, January 10 at 7pm. Moulin and Pitlochry History Circle Karen Guthrie, the archivist at Blair Castle will speak on the ‘Treasures in Blair Castle Archives and Museum’ at their next meeting to be held in the Tryst on Monday, January 29 at 7.30pm. Football The Vale of Atholl FC match was sponsored by R W Bell Building Services. The club’s annual ‘Old vs New’ game last weekend had to be cancelled due to the poor pitch conditions. Tomorrow (Saturday) Vale will entertain Ballinluig at the Recreation Park in a league game with a 2pm start. Blair Atholl Museum A ceilidh will be held in Blair Atholl village hall on Friday, January 12 starting at 7.30pm. Traditional Scottish entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Foundry Boys band, and Gillie McNab and Ross McNaughton.
