Drovers’ Tryst dates revealed

- October 2018

The dates for the 2018 Crieff and Strathearn Drovers’Tryst have been announced.

The popular walking festival will take place from October 6 -13.

The programme includes eight days of walks in the stunning local area and a day of mountain biking at Comrie Croft – known as the Hairy Coo – which included a friendly race over mixed terrain in 2017, as well as several new races for a range of bikes such as single speed, e-bikes, retro bikes and what were termed‘fat bikes’.

Organisers of the Drovers’Tryst as a whole hope to have the full programme finalised by the end of March.

There will be a meeting of the Crieff and Strathearn Drovers’Tryst committee on February 15 at 7.30pm in the Strathearn Artspace on Comrie Street in Crieff.

The purpose of the meeting is to approve, by way of an AGM of members, the winding up of the unincorporated association that previously ran the Crieff and Strathearn Drovers’Tryst.

An interim update will also be provided on the Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SCO47728, which now runs the Crieff and Strathearn Drovers’Tryst. Everyone is welcome to come along and attend the AGM.

The festival – which also includes a variety of social events – is designed to celebrate the area’s agriculture heritage.
