JUNIORS

-

Following a clean sweep of call-offs on Saturday, Perthshire’s junior football clubs will look to kick off 2018 this weekend with some action.

Jeanfield Swifts will travel with almost a full squad to high-flyers Bonnyrigg Rose with the aim of starting the year with a win against the league leaders.

Ross Gunnion’s men were set to welcome Hill of Beath to the Fair City for their opening game of 2018 but saw their East Region Super League clash postponed so will be looking for a top-class result against the Midlothian side.

In the North Division Kinnoull’s trip to Newburgh was put on hold due to a waterlogged pitch and their planned Perthshire clash with Mark Brash’s Blairgowrie has already been pushed back owing to a burst water pipe.

Alan Cameron’s side will instead travel to league leaders Dundee North End this weekend, where a win would close the gap at the top of the table to a mere three points.

Blairgowrie’s trip to Lochee Harp was also postponed last week and the east Perthshire side will now host Forfar Abion on Saturday.
