Charity donations bid

-

Residents across Perth and Kinross are being urged to donate their unwanted household goods to a charity in the Fair City.

Letham Climate Challenge is gathering the unwanted items to create“home packs”, which will be given out to people who need support to start again and are struggling for money.

A number of collection points have been set up across Perth, where residents can donate pots, pans and frying pans, kitchen utensils, working kettles and toasters, clean duvets and clean towels, all in a usable condition.

The collection points will be at the North Inch Community Library, Dewars Centre, AK Bell Library, Letham St Mark’s Church, Letham Area Office on Marlee Road and Letham Climate Challenge on Garth Avenue.

Perth and Kinross Council employees can also donate items to a staff-only collection point in Pullar House.

Liz Dewar of Letham Climate Challenge said:“Our home packs aim to give a helping hand - a few essentials to those in crisis.”

Fiona McBain from Zero Waste Perth said:“If you’ve just got new household items for Christmas, or you’ve got some unwanted items tucked away and no longer used in a cupboard, then why not give them a new life by passing them on for reuse to Letham Climate Challenge for their home packs.”
