St Serf’s Church The service last Sunday was conducted by the minister Michael Archibald and his sermon was based on ‘Dislocatio­n’. Flora Wylie read the lessons, Irene McLean was the organist and the flowers were kindly gifted by Margaret Lane. There will be a joint communion service in Methven Church on Sunday, February 11, at 10am. This will be followed by a thanksgivi­ng service in St Serf’s at 6.30pm. The next Session meeting will be on Thursday, February 15, at 7.30pm. The service this Sunday, January 28, will be conducted by Mr Archibald and everyone will be made very welcome.

Parish Church Morning worship last Sunday was conducted by Reverend Mike Erskine. This Sunday’s service will take place in the church at 11am. During term time the Sunday school welcomes children to the front pews of the church. A creche for underthree­s is available during Sunday morning services. The prayer group meets on Thursdays in Burnside Court lounge at 10.30am. Choir rehearsal is every Friday at 6.45pm, new members welcome. The Busy Bees toddlers’ group runs on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 11.30am, all welcome. The newly opened community cafe is open to all every Tuesday, from 2-4pm in the church hall. There is no charge made for tea, coffee or home baking and organisers are keen for as many people as possible to support the venture. The Cargill-Burrelton Guild meets on Thursdays, at 7pm in the hall. Burrelton and Woodside youth club is open to all young people from P6 to S6 every Sunday, from 6.30pm to 8pm with a programme of different activities every week. There will be no worship service in Kinclaven Church this Sunday, January 28. Instead, a joint service will be held in Caputh Church at 11.15am. All are welcome at this service which will be led by Rosemary Patterson, the reader in training. This will be Rosemary’s last service while connected to Kinclaven, Caputh and Clunie churches.
