Status Quo lead stellar Rewind Scotland line-up

-

The story of two top dancers from the 1920s will be celebrated in Perth on International Women’s Day.

Lois Hutton and Helene Vanel met at dance school in London, where they learned from Perth’s Margaret Morris.

The two also learned painting and sculpture from JD Fergusson, who was married to their teacher.

The two ladies went on to set up their own school, dance troupe and theatre on the French Riviera, becoming some of the top names of their day in the glamorous circles of Paris and London.

The talk, called ‘Exactly Their Pleasure’ at the Fergusson Gallery in Perth will look at how the pair achieved such fame and talent, and on their love for one another.

It will be led by Richard Emerson, who has spent the past five years researching the lives of Lois and Helene by travelling between Edinburgh and the French Riviera to recount their lives, particularly focusing on their connections with Ms Morris and the collections of the Fergusson Gallery.

The talk is on March 8 from 1-2.30pm at the JD Fergusson Gallery.

Tickets are £2 via the Eventbrite website . A series of stellar names have been announced as featuring on the line-up for this year’s Rewind Scotland festival.

The July 20-22 ‘80s-themed music bash at Scone Palace includes big names such as Howard Jones, Heaven 17, Boomtown Rats and Bonnie Tyler, OMD, Status Quo and UB40 – as well as scores of other artists to take Perth punters on a summer nostalgia trip.
