The Perth Road Runners were represented by 27 green vests on Saturday at their local Perth Parkrun.

Out of the 184 runners, Steven Bonthrone was the 8th finisher across the line and first for the road runners in 21:08. He was very quickly followed by Andrew Lochhead in 21:11 and 9th position and Kevin Rogers in 10th in a time of 21:22. Richard Ward was 12th across the line and the 4th roadrunner in 21:38.

For the ladies, Marlena Nowaczyk and Lorraine Macpherson both crossed the line in 24:28 being recorded as 4th and 5th female respectively. Gillian Douglas was the third woman road runner home in 25:19 and 9th overall with Kristen Allcoat in 12th at 25:26.

There was no Parkrun tourism last weekend. Saturday saw the third and final cross country league meeting at Broxburn. The men’s team, consisting of David Knight, Duncan Ryan, Kevin Riddell, Ronnie Glen, Paul Stewart, Simon Grieshaber and Alan Bothwell, finished 13th on the day and 14th overall in the league table. The Men’s Masters Team finished 3rd on the day and a fantastic 4th place overall in the league table, up one place from last year. This is a major achievement for the club finishing in between Edinburgh AC and Central AC.

The women’s team, consisting of Sonjia Crow and Fabienne Thompson, finished 15th on the day and 17th overall. A great effort given they did not manage a full team in any of the league meetings.

The next race is the Scottish National Masters event followed by the big Championship race on February 24. As a reminder, these races are open to any Perth Road Runner member and you must be a current Scottish Athletics member also. Please see Simon Grieshaber for more details.
