Workshops to help actors
A series of workshops is to be held in Perth to help actors refine their skills.
Perth Drama Club is set to hold four evening workshops to help amateur actors from across Perth and Kinross develop their abilities and prepare them for treading the boards.
The workshops will look at voice work such as breathing and projection, to moving on stage and stage presence.
It will also look at characterisation and how to prepare for auditions.
The first workshop will be “setting up strong and credible performances” on Tuesday, February 20, looking at analysing and building characters on stage.
The next workshop will be “performance skills” on Tuesday, March 6, which will help participants with voice work and movement on stage.Budding actors can then look at further characterisation skills and how to make the character seem real to the audience with a “making your character live” workshop on Tuesday, March 20.
The final workshop will look to prepare people for an audition on Tuesday, March 27.
The workshop “preparing for a production and bringing it all together” will look at a range, skills, auditioning and roles, and there will be a miniproduction using the materials gathered from the previous three workshops.
Each evening session runs from 7.30pm until 9.30pm
All four workshops will be run by experienced stage show directors.
