Barn bash for cash praised by the event’s organisers

-

Organisers of the first BlueSky Rocks have heralded the event as a huge success after raising more than £1000 at its inaugural gig.

Methven outdoor activities firm BlueSky Experiences held its first charity night on Saturday, February 10, in aid of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The company hosted a plethora of local musical acts at its Bachilton Barn in aid of the Perth Airport charity, including The Sandemans, Løngstay, Stop The Rain, Benedictus, Timed Out, Red Pine Timber Company and BlueSky Experiences’very own Ella England, daughter of the firm’s managing director, James England.

And plans are already being made for the next charity night, according to events executive Hollie Irvine.

She said:“It was fantastic, just a really great night. We raised a great amount of money and everyone had fun.

“There were about 130 people who bought tickets and about 40 musicians.

“We’re already in talks for having another event. It’s something that would probably have to be done annually, but we’re looking to progress some of the feedback we received from the bands and people who came along.”

Fiona Dennis, Community Fundraiser at SCAA said:“It was a well organised and attended event in a fantastic venue and those attending enjoyed the seven live acts and bands that rocked the night away until 1am.”

“SCAA is so grateful for the support they gave through a raffle and auction and everyone involved should know that their donation will help save lives in Scotland.

“We would like to thank the BlueSky staff for all their hard work before and during the event.”
