Antiques fairback

-

The popular Galloway antiques fair is set to return to Scone Palace this weekend.

Antique and fine art dealers will be displaying a range of items for sale, including furniture, porcelain, glass, silver, jewellery, mirrors, sculpture, oriental rugs and carpets.

Some of the items will be from as early as the early Georgian period, right the way through to the art deco heyday of the 1930s.

The Galloway antiques fair will be open at the crowning place of Scottish kings from Friday, March 2 until Sunday, March 3 from 10.30am until 5pm each day. Entry is £6 per person, although children under 16 are free. the yellow weather warning.

“There is the potential for more to accumulate, however it will be hit and miss as to where is affected.

“On Wednesday, there will be quite a bit of snow in most places, with 10cm of snow more common.

“On top of that, it will feel very cold, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the temperature stayed below freezing all day. There will be winds from the east of over 40 miles per hour and it will feel like it is around -10 degrees Celsius.

“That will be the coldest period, but it is unlikely that the storm will clear up until into next week.

“The amber warning means to be prepared and get any tasks done before the bad weather if possible. It also means to plan ahead and check in on anyone vulnerable you know, and your friends, family and neighbours.”
