17-year-old girl is released from custody
Police Scotland has confirmed a 17-year-old female has been released following an incident last week in Perth.
The 17-year-old female and a 45-year-old male from Staffordshire were arrested at Perth Railway Station, and both were admitted to PRI and then Ninewells Hospital.
The 45-year-old man, Stuart Lymer of Uttoxeter, appeared in Perth Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with being in possession of a knife at Perth Railway Station and made no plea.
A spokesperson said:“Police Scotland can confirm that the 17-year-old female arrested in connection with the incident in a police vehicle in Perth on Monday, March 5, has been released from custody pending further investigation. “Enquiries are ongoing.” The case has been referred to Police Investigation and Review Commissioner (PIRC) for an investigation.
A spokesman for the PIRC said:“We can confirm that we have received a referral from Police Scotland in relation to the serious injury of a 17-year-old woman and 45-year-old man who were being transferred in a police vehicle to Perth Police Office on Monday, March 5.
“Our investigation is ongoing and it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
