- Ross Gardiner

Aileen Carr from Inchture, lost over 55 lbs since joining Weight Watchers A Carse of Gowrie woman has praised Weight Watchers after losing almost 60 pounds in a year.

Aileen Carr, of Inchture, was an active person who walked regularly but noticed it was becoming more and more difficult to do the things she loved like gardening and yoga.

However, when her physiotherapist told her she had issues with both her hips and her knees were showing signs of damage too, she knew that she just had to do something. Aileen joined Weight Watchers online in February 2017 while visiting her sister who was also following Weight Watchers.

When she returned home in March 2017 she had already lost 4 ½ pounds in just three weeks and immediately found her local meeting in Errol.

According to Aileen, the key to her consistent weight loss over the next eight months was staying at the meetings after being weighed.

She reached her initial goal weight in October 2017 and has not only maintained that loss, but gone on to lose more with a total loss of 55 ½ lbs.

She is hoping to have reached a loss of four stones in the next couple of weeks.

Aileen said: “I visited my sister in Yorkshire who was having surgery and when I was down she was going to Weight Watchers.

“She had recipe books and magazines and I just said I’d eat the same while I was with her.

“I didn’t feel deprived, and there was really tasty food.

“Once I came home, I joined my nearest group in Errol and I have lost four stone. I had felt aches and pains, especially on my hips, for the first time before, and I struggled to do things like walk the length of Princes Street on days out to Edinburgh.

“I joined Weight Watchers 30 years ago when I was in my 30s and it has changed so much since then.

“I can honestly say that Weight Watchers has changed my relationship with food.”

Weight Watchers meet on Wednesdays at 10am and 6pm -at The Civil Service Club in Perth and on Thursdays at 6.30pm at Auchterarder Community Church.
