Defeat is a cold blow for the Swifts

-

Jeanfield Swifts suffered a 4-1 Super League defeat against Camelon Juniors on Saturday.

The Riverside fixture was the only match to get the green light in Perthshire as snow and frost again hit hard.

Swifts started brightly but fell behind in the 15th minute when Jordan Herron broke clear to smash beyond Mark Mitchell.

It went from bad to worse three minutes later, this time Alan Docherty finding space to tuck into the back of the net.

This looked set to be a difficult afternoon for the Perth side but they did battle back into the contest on 37 minutes.

Captain Chris Anton was downed in the box allowing Tony Holt to confidently net from the penalty spot.

Celebrations were short-lived, however, as Camelon stormed back to grab a third before the break through Alan Sneddon.

Sneddon would add his second, the visitors’fourth, early in the second half.
