See beavers up close
Nature lovers are in for a treat next month, with an opportunity to get up close with beavers in Perthshire.
The Scottish Wildlife Trust will be holding a “get up close to beavers” evening at the Loch of the Lowes nature reserve near Dunkeld on Wednesday, April 4 from 6.30pm.
During the night-time event, people can see the natural engineers restoring Scotland’s natural environment, and learn about the re-introduction of wild beavers after a nearly 400 year absence.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Wildlife Trust said: “With the support of the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery the Scottish Wildlife Trust is holding a series of events from April to September to give the public the chance to see these animals up close, and learn about the role these natural engineers can play in restoring Scotland’s environment after a 400 year absence.
“At this special preview event you will be able to join an expert for a brief, accessible talk about beavers followed by the chance to see one up close from the reserve hides as the sun sets over a picturesque Perthshire loch.
“Binoculars and telescopes will be available, and guests at previous events have enjoyed the sight of beavers just a few metres from the hide.”
