Councillooking intocaravansite
A Kinross-shire estate has failed to respond after being hit with a planning contravention notice as Perth and Kinross Council investigated a caravan parked on-site.
The local authority was gathering evidence in preparation for a potential enforcement notice to be issued to Lambhill Estate over the siting of a static caravan.
The site, on the fringes of Blairingone, applied for a static caravan to be sited on the estate for temporary staff accommodation and was refused twice by local authority planners, a decision disregarded by the applicants.
PKC confirmed that they issued the estate with the final warning to remove the caravan while they gathered evidence towards an enforcement notice.
The occupiers did not respond, but the council explained that the lack of reply won’t stop them intervening.
A spokesperson said:“Perth and Kinross Council can confirm it became aware of an unauthorised static caravan on the site in May 2017.
“Following the refusal of planning applications submitted for the siting of this caravan, most recently on 11 January 2018, the council issued a Planning Contravention Notice (PCN) to the owners/occupiers of the caravan on February 22.
“The recipients of the PCN had 21 days to provide the information required by the PCN, but did not respond.
“The PCN was issued to gather additional information including land ownership in advance of the serving of any Enforcement Notice which would require the caravan to be removed.
“The lack of a response does not us prevent us serving an Enforcement Notice. Failure to comply with the Enforcement Notice would give the council the power to remove the caravan and dispose of it.”
