Football The league cup match score was Vale 0 Burrelton 6. The team were Crowe, Berry, Kennedy, Thain, Walker, two trialists, Carr, McNeil, Houston and Hall. Sadly, there was a very poor turnout of signed players for this home match. The manager, ex-players and trialists did turnout however and while they didn’t look like they were going to win they did the club proud. Manager McNeil had to scramble around trying to fill in the late call off spaces. Burrelton won the game easily after going 0-4 up at the break. The highlight for Vale was a Dan Crowe penalty save. Vale changed things a bit and for most of the second half they did well. However, their legs eventually gave out and they lost another two late goals, despite some good defending from Crowe, Kennedy, Walker and Thain, without which the tally might have been greater. The man of the match was Kyle Walker who just pipped Dan Crowe. Tomorrow Vale are at home to Dunkeld in the semi-final of the Perthshire Cup with a 1.30pm start.
