Auchterarder Racewall driver Ian McLaughlin endured mixed fortunes at Saturday’s Cowdenbeath meeting.

The 2 Litre National Saloon track ace was in action for the first time this season and started his evening on a positive note.

McLaughlin brought his car home in fourth place in the opening heat and then took the runners’up spot in heat two.

In the final, Ross Watters came out on top as McLaughlin crossed the line in seventh.

Holly Glen, from Inchture, was back with her car running properly following last week’s struggles.

Glen recorded a seventh place finish in the white/yellow challenge heat.

Among the BriSCA Formula IIs at the Racewall was Pete Davidson.

The Perth driver was plagued with a misfire which saw him retire from the heats and, during the final, he tangled with another car and retired.

There was a bumper field of Micro F2 drivers at the track with Bridge of Earn’s Ross McLaughlin part of the line-up.

He started off with a fifth place in heat one, was eighth in heat two and, despite a spin, brought his car home in fifth place in heat three.

In the Ministox James Mooney, from Crieff, enjoyed a productive meeting.

Mooney brought his car home in fifth place in the Let the Sparks Fly trophy.

He followed that up with a seventh place in the Allcomers heat one and an eighth place in Allcomers heat two.

The National Hot Rods make their first appearance of the season this Saturday for one of their World Championship qualifying rounds.

Also in action are the BriSCA Formula IIs, the 1300 Saloons and the Prostocks. Kick-off is 6pm.
