Band reveal new set at Fair City showcase gigs

Popular Perthshire band Real Life Entertainm­ent are looking forward to a number of gigs around the Fair City.

Described as “punky-fresh psychedeli­c rock”, Real Life Entertainm­ent, made up of Rick Michalski on lead vocals, Ross McCaw on lead vocals and guitar, Alex Blundell on lead guitar, Steven Hartshorne on bass and James Hartshorne on drums, will be playing at the end of the month in the Twa Tams.

On Saturday, April 28, the band will take to the Twa Tams stage alongside Betty and the Bass, The Novelty Band, Neil Morrison Band and Olivia Watson.

The band won the Pogues Irish Whiskey Presents: A Shot at Discovery competitio­n at the O2 Academy in London last year.

Rick said: “We are really looking forward to playing in Perth again at the end of April.

“We have freshened up the set, which has made it more interestin­g for ourselves at practice, so we want to play a few of our new songs at the next few gigs.

“Our new double A side ‘Skeleton Party’/’Stone Me’ is available on Spotify and Google Play and we will Real Life Entertainm­ent be working on much more.” Apart from the Twa Tams gig at the end of the month, Real Life Entertainm­ent will also be playing at Perth Against Racism’s gig at the Civil Service Club on May 4. Rick said: “The Perth Against Racism gig should be a special night. “We are then headlining the Biscuit Party on May 12 at the O2 ABC2 with an after party in Firewater and we have a festival in Wales coming up called How The Light Gets In. “There’s plenty more to come. We want to keep ourselves busy.” The Twa Tams gig starts at 7pm on April 28 and entry is free.
