Atholl Palace Hotel The Atholl Palace Hotel in Pitlochry has been rated best overall hotel for service and hospitality in the UK by North American tourists for the second consecutive year.
The award was given by Irish coach tour operator, CIE Tours International, which recognises the quality of the UK’s hotels and visitor attractions.
The Atholl Palace scooped the Best Service and Hospitality Award, meaning that it was judged best in the UK by the 15,000 visitors CIE brought to the UK in 2017.
The other Perthshire destination to be praised was Blair Castle, which was one of 34 attractions in Scotland to receive a visit awards of excellence, given to those places which received a greater than 90 per cent customer satisfaction rating.
The award ceremony was held at House for an Art Lover in Glasgow on April 10.
Ireland’s inbound tour operator CIE Tours International has been bringing visitors from North America to tour Ireland for some considerable time, but it recently expanded to include trips to Scotland.
A spokesperson for the operators said of the Scottish market: “The Outlander effect has played a significant part in helping attract visitors from the US, taking the country by storm since the release of the popular TV series.”
