Diverse CiTay Festival will be a day to remember
Be Charlotte Charlotte Bremner from Blairgowrie - will be performing This June Perth will be lining up all its boats to celebrate the importance of the younger generation.
As part of the Year of Young People 2018 (YoYP), Perth is staging its ambitious YoYP activity, the Diverse CiTay Festival on June 23.
The summer Saturday boasts a vibrant carnival parade at lunchtime with floats, dance troupes and bands heading from the South Inch to the North Inch where a carnival will run all afternoon.
There the music stage will be hosted by dance music giant Ministry of Sound. Also appearing will be Dundee pop band, Be Charlotte and Scottish singer-songwriter Mikey and the carnival will welcome vlogger and social media influencer Jack Maynard.
Alongside all this, there will be a bike stunt team, funfair and inflatables.
Perth College UHI sports, healthy and wellbeing villages will be hoping to attract interest in what the college offers, from archery to activities such as relaxation and meditation.
More events and venues around Perth will see the day churn out surprises: A Summer Contemporary Design Market is in the Civic Hall at 2 High Street, Perth, between 10am and 4.30pm.
A youth takeover of Perth Theatre will see free workshops, activities and events between 10am and 9.30pm, making it the place to find out about theatre and stagecraft. This ends with an under18s after party, complete with silent disco and local bands.
The Mill Street youth market, (5pm-10pm) is about young creators and business operators, accompanied by food stalls, buskers, and a climbing wall.
In the Horsecross plaza, expect unforgettable stage performances from local bands Parliamo, Stop the Rain and Saharatheband.
