SWI President Lesley McRae welcomed all, including members of Auchterarder club, to the AGM and final meeting of the season. Two of whom acted as tellers of the voting papers for the new committee. Member Helen Webster stood down and Cindy Smith was voted in her place. Celia Marshall stays on as group delegate. The business reports were given by Helen Webster; finance - Liz Piggott (read by Celia Marshall in Liz’s absence); Lesley McRae gave the president’s report and Celia Marshall the group report. The entertainment from Auchterarder SWI was a playlet set in Polly’s Pantry entitled ‘Something to talk about’. Cups were presented to members who secured the most points in the competitions overall - 1 Celia Marshall, 2 Liz Piggott, 3 Cindy Smith. The bring and buy stall raised over £90. Club meetings have now broken up for the summer. Church Holy communion service will be conducted by Rev James Aitchison on Sunday at 11am. The annual stated meeting is on May 27 after morning service.
Errol
Pensioners’ Bingo Tea The next event is on May 17 in the masonic lounge, eyes down at 7.30pm. The usual houses, lines, raffle and lucky number draw will be played on the night. All ages welcome. Tickets for their summer drive on July 1 are also available. Horticultural Association Coffee morning in Errol village hall on May 19. There will be a cake and candy stall, raffle and schedules for the August show will be ready to uplift. Entry is £2.50 and all are welcome. Church The Big Brekkie for Christian Aid is in the village hall tomorrow from 9-11am. The sacrament of Holy communion is in the church at 11am on Sunday, conducted by Rev John Macgregor. Revive cafe is in the village hall on Wednesday, May 16, 1.30-3pm, and a plant and bake sale is on Saturday, May 26.
Forteviot
Church The service on Sunday at 9.30am will be led by Rev James W Aitchison. A coffee morning takes place in the village hall on June 2. Doors open at 10-12pm. Entry is £3. Bowling Club The lottery numbers drawn this week were 1, 9, 17 and 18. There was no winner and the rollover is still £1000. The next draw is on Tuesday at 7pm in the clubhouse.
Guildtown
Church Morning worship this Sunday will be in Guildtown village hall at 9.30am. Rev Alan Livingstone will lead the service to which members, friends and visitors will be made welcome. Tea/coffee are served at the close of the service. Tea Party The pupils and staff at Guildtown primary school are hosting a tea party to celebrate the town’s 200th anniversary on May 18. It opens at 9.45-11.30am in Guildtown school hall. All welcome.

Guild The annual Kettins, Ardler and Meigle Guild daffodil tea in Kettins church hall raised £1333 for guild funds. A group spokesperson said: “This was a tremendous success. The committee would like to thank everyone who contributed and supported the event.”

Kinross and Ochil Walking Group The next trek leaves tomorrow to Dumyat by the Hill Path, a distance of five miles. This is a fairly gentle route to the top of Dumyat with superb views of Stirling, the central belt, the Ochils and beyond. Andersons Ceilidh Night An event in aid of Swansacre Playgroup is on May 18 in Milnathort Town Hall, from 7.30-11pm. It will feature the Crossford Musical Society Ceilidh Band. Boys’ Brigade The annual display and presentation of awards evening is on May 18 in the Church Centre at 7pm. All parents and friends are invited to attend. RSPB Loch Leven A wildlife writing workshop is at the Loch Leven reserve on May 19 from 10-2pm. Author and poet, Anita John, will lead exercises, followed by a tour of the reserve and tea and coffee will be provided. It costs £10 for members; £15 for non-members and booking is essential. A family Bushcraft day is on May 20, from 1.30-3pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult. It costs £12 for RSPB member family; £15 for non-member families, and booking is essential. Cleish Fete A great afternoon out for all the family is on May 19 from 2pm. Kinross-shire Health and Wellbeing Group The next meeting is on May 22 in Kinross Centre from 10–11.30am, looking at homecare provision in Kinross-shire. SWI May saw the club’s AGM and awards, where two ladies from Murthly SWI attended as tellers. After the election of the new committee, the members and their friends enjoyed an afternoon tea, prepared by the committee. The annual day out will be a trip to Abbotsford House and Melrose in June. Competitions: flower arrangement in a wine glass -1 Joyce Begg, 2 Liz Drummond, 3 Carol McKinlay. The vote of thanks was given by Joyce Begg. Joyce scooped two trophies – the Walker Cup and the Nane Baird Trophy. Irene MacGregor won the endeavour paperweight.

Church Sunday’s service is in Bankfoot Church Centre at 11.15am. This will be followed by lunch which is being held in support of the Christian Aid charity. Bowling Club Lottery numbers this week were 4, 11, 13 and 15. There was no winning line, so prize money next week will be £2000.
