Furtherreviewin courtcase

-

A sheriff has ordered a further review of the behaviour of a woman who wrecked a house in Coupar Angus in a couple of months time to ensure she is sticking to a court order.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis concluded a monitoring report written on Megan Duffy (21) since she was put on a supervision order and a course of alcohol treatment in February for trashing a house in Japp Square was“reasonable”when she reappeared at Perth Sheriff Court last week.

However, Sheriff Foulis decided she ought to return to court for another review in July saying she would have to exhibit the same kind of good behaviour ahead of that date to convince him she had changed her ways.

Duffy, of the town’s Church Place, previously admitted she wilfully or recklessly struck the ceiling of a house in Japp Square with a walking stick on February 25 last year then went on to smash bottles, glasses and ornaments within the property too.

She also pled guilty to a second charge that once she was forcibly removed from the house she culpably and recklessly and with an utter disregard for the consequences threw a bottle through a window hitting a man who was sitting inside and showering him with glass.

Sheriff Foulis remarked on Wednesday:“This review is a reasonable one so I’ll bring you back on July 25. If you want to stay out of custody you have to do the same if not more.”
