Volunteer for Biggest Weekend

- Lynn Duke

A Strath group is gaining a good reputation as the go to organisation for providing top-class volunteers for major music events.

The help of Crieff Round Table was enlisted when T in the Park came to Strathallan Castle.

The festival’s bosses were so impressed by the standard at the time they invited the group back to help the following year in a bigger role.

And after it was announced that Scotland’s largest music festival was being shelved at Strathallan, organisers DF Concerts still sought help from Crieff Round Table for its spin-off extravaganza - the TRNSMT music event in Glasgow.

Over the past few years local volunteers have enjoyed being part of the team.

And now Tablers have been invited to recruit for the BBC’s Biggest Weekend – a major festival being staged at Scone Palace on Friday and Saturday next week.

CRT chair Gregor Elliot told the Herald:“Off the back of our

Members of Crieff Round Table will once again be involved in a major music event involvement at T in the Park and TRNMST we have been asked to find volunteers for the BBC’s Biggest Weekend at Scone Palace on Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26.

“We have had next to no notice so are trying to find people interested in working a short shift in return for tickets for the event.

“The Saturday is a sell-out with Noel Gallagher headlining, the Friday is more classical music.

“We are looking for 35 people for Friday and 45 for the Saturday to scan people tickets as they enter the festival. In return for finding volunteers Crieff Round Table will be paid a donation from the BBC which we can give out to local causes.

“The shift should be six hours maximum and everyone will see the headline acts as well as having time off during the day to see other acts.

“We also anticipate that we will be asked to help find people for this year’s TRNSMT on the same basis.

“Interested people should contact us at‘crieffroundtable4T@ hotmail.com’or speak to one of our members for further information.”
