Crieff spending card goes on sale

- Douglas Dickie

The new Crieff Card will go on sale next week after receiving support from the business community.

Fifty-three outlets have now signed up to accept the card which will be available to buy from either the Red Squirrel Café, Fun Junction or online at a dedicated website www. crieffgiftcard.co.uk from early next week.

The concept was developed by Crieff Succeeds BID to boost local businesses and ensure money stays within the town’s economy.

Neil Combe, Manager of Crieff BID, said:“I’m absolutely delighted by the positive response from the local business community and expect many more outlets to sign up.

“We are incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful range of independent businesses here in Crieff and The Crieff Card is a great opportunity for local traders to promote their unique offering and for local people to show their support by purchasing these cards as gifts for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries or Christmas presents.”

The Mastercard-based gift card works in the same way as store gift cards but can be used across the whole town. Stickers will be displayed in the windows of the businesses that accept the card.

The BID will also promote the card as a great gift for people who live elsewhere but have relatives or friends in Crieff. They will be able to go online, order the Crieff Card and have it sent to a local address.
