Community fair to be held in Kinross

Around 60 local community groups, organisati­ons, local businesses and services in Perth and Kinross will be coming together next month for a special event to celebrate and highlight the important role they have in enhancing the quality of life for people in Kinross-shire.

The Better Place To Live Fair 2018 at Loch Leven Community Campus in Kinross will be held from 10am-2pm on Saturday, June 9. Organised by the Kinross-shire Community Learning and Developmen­t Group, the fair will offer a fun day of activities for all the family and the opportunit­y for residents of Perth and Kinross to find out what Kinross-shire has to offer.

Alongside the diverse range of groups and organisati­ons showcasing the work they do there is a host of activities you can take part in.

The Scots Guards will have a fantastic assault course, fitness rowing machines and iconic vehicles. Scottish Fire Service Fire Engine will be attending and the Scottish Women’s Institute is offering speed crafting. KYTHE has organised a music workshop and Aero Space Kinross Planetariu­m and lots more to see and take part in.

There will be an opportunit­y for local residents to join in the launch of the new Volunteer Informatio­n Point (VIP), which will be situated in the library. Residents will be able to find out about volunteeri­ng opportunit­ies in the area, while community groups showcase what they do and the difference they make locally.

For children, there will be all kinds of activities from games, a treasure hunt, face painting, arts and crafts, storytelli­ng, and rhyme time.

Everyone is welcome to come along to support local groups, organisati­ons, services and businesses, have fun and take part in a range of activities.
