Bowling Club The numbers drawn in the lotter this week were 6, 9, 11 and 15. There was no winner and the rollover still remains at £1000. The next draw will take place next Tuesday, June 19 at 7pm in the clubhouse.

Guildtown

Church The service in St Martins Church on Sunday will be led by Mr Ian Roy at 9.30am. All members, friends and visitors will be made welcome.

Kinclaven

Church The service last week was conducted by Reverend Peggy EwartRober­ts. A reading from Mark chapter three, verses 20-35 was given by Norma Service and the organist was Janet Coyle. Worship each Sunday is at 9.45am.

Kinross

Potager Garden The group are holding a coffee morning at the garden in Bowton Road from 10.30am-12 noon on Saturday. There will be refreshmen­ts by donation, a raffle, plant sales and a Flamingo Paperie stall (formerly Phoenix Cards). The event is in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. All welcome. Kinross Colts JFC The club are holding their annual fun day at The Myre, Kinross tomorrow. There will also be a pop up shop selling second hand boots, trainers, replica jerseys and computer games which is being run by the 2009 squad. All money raised will go to club funds. Donations will be welcomed and these can be left at 32, Gallowhill Road, Kinross, or with any Colts official. Ceilidh The next ceilidh event will take place in Milnathort town hall, from 2-5pm on Sunday, with a break for tea and biscuits at 3pm. It costs £5 and the music will be provided by Alan Small. Kinross High School Show The performing arts faculty will present a “Little Shop of Horrors” in the assembly hall from Tuesday, June 19 to Thursday, June 21 at 7pm. Tickets cost £6; £4 for concession­s and are available by contacting the school office. Common Grounds The committee will hold its project lunch at 12 noon next Wednesday, June 20, in the Guide Hall, Church Street, Milnathort. The guest speaker will be Olivia Giles from the charity 500 Miles. A lunch of home made soup, bread, tray bakes and Fairtrade tea and coffee will follow the talk. Everyone welcome. Loch Leven NNR A series of botany walks will take place a Loch Leven nature reserve on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21. These walks will leave from Findatie car park and Burleigh Sands car park respective­ly from 6–8pm. All events are free but booking is essential. Summer Reading Challenge The “Mischief Makers” summer reading challege, based on characters from the Beano comics will take place in Loch Leven community library next David Meara (seated), author of ‘Anglo-Scottish Sleepers’, visited Pitlochry Station Bookshop to sign copies of his book.

He was welcomed by Bobbie McGraw, bookshop manager (left) and Graham Holmes, bookshop chairman. David sold 20 signed copies of his book.

The Pitlochry Station Bookshop began with an idea in 2005, followed by ScotRail offering the old newspaper kiosk as premises and later an adjoining room for the charity fundraiser.

Run by volunteers, the bookshop has raised close to a quarter of a million pounds to date.
