Firm wins top Scottish business award
A Perthshire business is celebrating a triumph at Scotland’s Business Awards.
Graham Hygiene Services, based in Blairgowrie, was hailed as the best Scottish professional services provider.
Managing director Phil McKenna, son and business development manager Callum, along with service coordinator Nikki Milne and operations manager Scott Wightman, received the award at a black tie dinner held at Glasgow’s Marriott Hotel, joining nearly 600 guests – including 14 regional winners.
Graham Hygiene Services had booked its place in the grand final after success in the Perth and Kinross regional heats.
The company, based in Welton Road, was formed eight years ago as a spin-off from Graham Environmental Services.
Phil said: “It is a huge thrill winning a Scottish award, given the competition we were up against.
“It is always great putting Perthshire on the map.
“We had visits from the judges asking about our business and company background. Graham Environmental used to subcontract Graham Hygiene Services director Phil McKenna (centre), son Callum and Nikki Milne with the award.
to a company called Kitchen Deep Clean, which we ended up buying.
“It has gone from strength to strength and we now employ 21 staff covering Scotland and as far south as Harrogate from our
Blairgowrie base.
“We have expanded into washroom services and that forms a massive part of our business now.
“And we are still looking to grow and bring even more jobs to the
area.” High profile clients include the R&A and St Andrews Links Trust, Gleneagles Hotel and various national hotel chains, along with local cafes, restaurants and chip shops
