Perth Road Runners were wellrepres­ented at the Glenrothes Road Running Festival 10k.

Taking sixth place overall and first M40 was Stuart Robertson who completed the course in a time of 35:55.

He was followed five runners later by Duncan Ryan in 36:37, while James Fotheringh­am was next for the club in 40:17.

Simon Grieshaber in 40:29, Sean Toole in 41:59 and Bob Brown in 49:54 - who was also first M70 - continued the constant flow of green vests. Completing the line-up were Megan Toole and Douglas Robertson, both picking up personal best times of 69:33 and 70:53 respective­ly.

Fair City runners also supported the fourth of the HiIls Are Alive series which took place at Whitetops, Angus.

The 10.4km route is one of the longer distances in the series but Stuart Robertson took it in his stride to finish ninth overall in 49:33.

Ronnie Glen clocked 54:54, Kevin Rogers 57:01, Derek McIntosh 1:00:48, Mike Dales 1:01:12, Fiona Manson 1:04:28, John Rudd 1:09:26, Bryan Jenkins 1:09:56 and Stephane Reid 1:11:33.

Stuart Robertson’s running trainers have been put to good use as he also ran the Kirkintill­och 10km alongside four other club members. The fast and flat route witnessed Stuart finishing 13th overall in 36:13, followed by James Fotheringh­am in 39:24.

Simon Grieshaber proved his personal best streak is not over yet by achieving his hard earned sub 40-minute 10k in 39:50.

Finishing in 42:17 was Sean Toole with Arlene McWalter, representi­ng the woman in the club, crossing the line in 47:04.

Taking on a longer distance were Perth runners at the Mhor Run 84 Half Marathon.

Eddie Torrie was second place overall in 1:28:53, Scott Henderson finished in 1:53:38, Garry Marshall 2:04:47 and Kate Marshall 2:28:54.

At the North Inch, 47 green vests turned out for Perth parkrun this week.

Three of the first four finishers home in green included first place for Mike Carroll in 15:46 and a new personal best of 17:33 for Kev Riddell. Sandwiched in between was Mike McConnell, who completed the course in 17:09.

Gillian McGuire was the first female road runner home in 21:38, followed by Gillian Douglas in 23:02 and Kristen Allcoat in 24:00.

Other times from Perth were PBs for Gregor Wells with 21:32, Craig Tomlinson 22:34 and Yvonne Bryson 28:23.

Taking in a spot of parkrun tourism this week were Hamish Shankland and Tracey Greer who both ran at Plean.

Mark Dunn came home in fourth position at Ruchill Parkrun and, at Dunfermlin­e, Bruce Henry also finished in fourth.
