Lots of school holiday football at McDiarmid

School Holidays are approachin­g fast and we have two of our popular Soccer Weeks at McDiarmid Park. The relevant dates are July 9 to 13 and July 23 to 27. These courses are designed to give you a taste of what it is like to train as a profession­al footballer and are open to five to 16-year-old boys and girls. Cost is £75 which includes a family match ticket for a Saints game as well as full training kit. Places should be booked and paid for online at www.saintsinth­ecommunity. co.uk or by completing and submitting one of our booking forms along with cash or cheque.

SUMMER GOALGETTER­S

We also have a series of two-day sessions for five to 16-year-olds throughout July at McDiarmid and across the county. There is no need to pre-book, just turn up and pay £5 on the day. Everyone who attends will get a family ticket for a Saints home game. Dates and times are as follows: McDiarmid Park from 1–4pm on July 2/3, July 4/5, July 16/17 and July 18/19. Kinross Loch Leven Campus from 10.30am–12pm on July 3/4. Crieff Strathearn Campus from 10.30am– 12pm on July 5/6. Pitlochry Recreation Ground from 10.30am-12pm on July 9/10. Aberfeldy Home Street Pitch from 1.30pm–3pm on July 9/10. Blairgowri­e Campus from 10.30am- 12pm on July 11/12.

SAINTS KIDZ

The final sessions in our block of Saints Kidz Football are next week as follows: McDiarmid Park on Monday, June 25 (restart August 20). McDiarmid Park on Wednesday, June 27 (restart August 15); Kinross on Wednesday, June 27 (restart August 15; Pitlochry on Wednesday, June 27 (restart August 15). Sessions at Blairgowri­e were completed last Thursday and they will restart on August 16. Soccer Saturdays at McDiarmid park are due to begin again on August 18.

GOALKEEPER­S

Sessions for goalkeeper­s (nine to 16-year-olds) are also planned, 1 to 2.30pm on July 18/19. A further two days will be added in due course. Cost is £5 payable on the day.

ANDY’S MAN CLUB

Every Monday at 7pm in the Muirton Suite at McDiarmid Park. Saints in the Community became the first football club in Scotland to host Andy’s Man Club in September last year. Founded by former Rugby League Internatio­nal Luke Ambler, following the suicide of his brother-in-law Andrew Roberts in 2016, the club is for“any man who is going through a storm, been through a storm or just wants to come along and meet a good group of people with the aim of improving one another.”
