Open day looks at future of hospital

A community open day at Crieff Hospital this Saturday between 10am and 2pm is set to be a busy event.

It is a chance for Strath residents to visit aard 1 and give their views on potential uses for the space, which is lying empty since its closure last year.

Community ideas are being gathered for its reuse and this can be done by attending the open day or filling in Your Community, Your Voice, Your Future postcards which can be found in the post office, doctors’surgery, Crieff Co-Op and Muthill Village Store.

Crieff Community Council chairman Harry Thomason is encouragin­g locals to attend, enjoy the afternoon and give feedback on how people would like to see the space at the community hospital used.

He said:“If we don’t build the space up we are going to lose it. They say we are not going to lose it but we have got to fill it up.

“The community council has been handing out feedback leaflets and we are encouragin­g everyone to fill them in.

“One idea would be, instead of going to Perth for pre-op appointmen­ts, to make use of the community hospital instead or it could be used for various health clinics. Others will have different ideas.”
