Teddybears’picnic toraisemoney

-

If you go down to Noah’s Ark soft play in Perth on Tuesday, July 10 you’ll be in for a big surprise.

That’s because a number of children and their teddies will be gathering for a teddy bears’picnic to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland – better known as CHAS.

Held on National Teddy Bear’s Picnic Day, children will be treated to a bear hunt, special guests Val and Dave Entertainment, glitter tattoos and raffle prizes.

Tickets will be sold at a reduced rate of £4 for all under-12s and the proceeds from the ticket sales will go directly to CHAS.

CHAS is encouraging other local soft plays, nurseries and play groups to round up their furry friends and help keep the joy alive for the families it cares for by holding their very own picnic to raise money for the national children’s hospice service.

Lyndsay Stobie, community fundraiser for CHAS, said:“Three children die every week in Scotland of a life-shortening condition, and at present, CHAS is only supporting one of those families.

“We rely on the incredible generosity of the general public to fund our services and fundraising events such as the Teddy Bear’s Picnic help us on this mission.”

Charlotte Lorimer, director of Noah’s Perth Ltd, said:“We have been supporters of CHAS for many years and are delighted to have a whole day dedicated to raising as much money for them as we can.“Without charitable fundraising and donations CHAS would simply not be able to stay open therefore it is imperative that as a local business we try to support them in any which way we can. I am privileged to be able to help raise awareness and to incorporate it into our summer fun day.”

CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides hospice services for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. The national charity offers palliative care and respite for the whole family via its two hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, and via its CHAS at Home service, which supports families in their own homes and has teams working within hospitals across the whole of Scotland.
