ChurchMorn­ing worship on Sunday, June 24, took place at 11am and was conducted by Dr Nigel Henderson. In the afternoon there was a summer party in the manse garden. The service on Sunday will take place at 11am and an evening service will be at 6pm. The kirk shop opens on Monday, July 2, at 10am in the Airlie Street Hall. The Sunday school is now closed during the summer holidays. A creche for under-threes is available during every Sunday morning service. The prayer group meets on Thursdays in Burnside Court at 10.30am. The church website at www. alythparis­hchurch.org.uk is updated weekly. Family history Alyth family history project is open on Sundays from 2pm to 4pm.

Bowling Club The numbers drawn this week were 3, 8, 10 and 14. There were no winners. Prize money next week will be £950.

Church The service on Sunday will be conducted by the Rev Adrian Lough at 11.15am. There will be a baptism during the service. The church cafe will be open every weekday morning as usual for the next three weeks. The cafe will be on holiday for two weeks from July 23. Afternoon tea An afternoon tea event with entertainm­ent from Rural Blend will be held on Saturday, July 21, from 2pm to 4pm in Bankfoot Church Centre. Tickets cost £8 on sale at the cafe. Church Last Sunday’s service was conducted by the Rev Andy Graham and the readings, One Samuel chapter 17, verses 4-11 and 32-49, were given by Jane Davidson. Blackwater

Hall committee The annual barbecue and roasts night will be held on Saturday, August 4, in the Blackwater Hall at 7.30pm. There will be a bar and raffle. Tickets are available from Pam Cameron on 882352 or Morag Houstoun on 882241.
