Continued Quiz night The next quiz night will take place in Milnathort Town Hall on Saturday, July 7. This is being held in aid of Bethany’s Year in India, teaching English at the Living Hope School. Entry costs £20 for teams of four, take your own bottle and nibbles. To book a team contact 01577 863633 or pay at the door. Project lunch Olivia Giles from the charity 500 miles was the guest speaker the Common Grounds project lunch in the charity’s cafe in Milnathort. 500 Miles works in Malawi and Zambia, providing help to those born without limbs or who have lost them as a result of traffic accidents. The members presented Olivia with a cheque for £1000 for her charity. £560.50 was raised from the lunch, which will go towards the next project the Common Grounds group will be supporting in July.

Church The service on Sunday is in Stanley. Bowling Club Numbers in the lottery this week were 3, 13, 14 and 19. There was no winning line. Prize money next week will be £2000.

Talk The final Friday evening series of Let’s Talk events will take place in the Little Acorn Cafe, Main Street, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm tonight. The subject will be “the end of life - what happens next?” and will include a short illustrate­d talk and informal chat, with free refreshmen­ts. Admission to the talk is free. Perth Road Runners In this week’s Perth Parkrun local man Michael Carroll crossed the finish line first in 15:49 and Michael McConnell came second in 16:50, with third home being Greg Simpson in 17:14. Perth road runners took the first six places this week, with Kev Riddell claiming a second personal best in as many weeks by finishing in 17:31. Fiona Manson was first lady home in 23:01, Gillian Edwards was the second PRR member home in 24:09, followed by Diane White with a time of 24:29. Notching up a new PB was Amy Bryson in a time of 24:36. Another PB this week came for Rhona Henderson in 26:56. Douglas Robertson came in with a time of 32:11 to make it four PBs. Paul Grace travelled to St Andrews and came home in 18th position with a time of 20:26. Mark Dunn was in Glasgow, taking part in the Victoria Parkrun, and finished in 19:02. Four members headed to Lochore Meadows, where Bruce Henry finished in 18th place in 19:55, Stewart Dallas crossed the line in 22:38, Catriona Liddell came home in 24:47 and Fiona Morrison finished the scenic loop of the loch in 35:59. Caroline Ness was at the Race to the King from Arundel to Winchester Cathedral. The route is primarily on the South Downs Way, with over 5000 feet of ascent. Caroline completed the 53 miles in 15:20:47. Harriet Shaw took on cycling as well as running at the Highland Cross duathlon. She finished the 20 mile run and 30 mile cycle from the west to the east coast of Scotland in 6:14:24. Neil Muir was the sole green vest who took part in another of the Chilly Willy trail races. He finished 11th overall and first V50 in 31:03. Members meet at Bells on Tuesday from 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start. Thursdays alternate between coached hill and track sessions.
