Saints soccer weeks

School holidays are here and we have two of our popular soccer weeks at McDiarmid Park.

The relevant dates are July 9-13 and 23-27. These courses are designed to give you a taste of what it is like to train as a professional footballer and are open to 5-16 year old boys and girls. We are hopeful that members of the Saints first team squad will pay a visit at some stage.

The cost is £75, which includes a family match ticket for a Saints game as well as full training kit.

Places should be booked and paid for in advance, either online at www.saintsinthecommunity.co.uk or by completing and submitting one of our booking forms.

Summer Goalgetters

We also have a series of two-day sessions for 5-16 year olds starting on Monday at McDiarmid and across the county.

There is no need to book. Just turn up and pay £5 on the day. Everyone who attends will get a family ticket for a Saints home game.

Down memory lane

In conjunction with PKAVS we held a very successful down memory lane tea dance at McDiarmid Park last Thursday, with more than 80 people enjoying song and dance. It was aimed at older people and we were delighted with the turnout and hope to continue with this exciting project in the very near future.

Andy’s Man Club

Saints in the Community became the first football club in Scotland to host Andy’s Man Club in September last year.

Founded by former rugby league international Luke Ambler following the suicide of his brother-in-law Andrew Roberts in 2016, the club is for“any man who is going through a storm, been through a storm or just wants to come along and meet a good group of people with the aim of improving one another.”

The club meets every Monday at 7pm in the Muirton Suite at McDiarmid Park.

Saints teaser

Last week: Stevie May scored a hat-trick for Saints in the 3-3 draw with Hearts at McDiarmid in January 2014.

This week: Another hat-trick, this time by a future Saints manager against East Fife at Bayview in August 1983. Can you name him?
