Spaces still available for summer coaching

-

School holidays are here and we have two of our popular soccer weeks at McDiarmid Park. The relevant dates are July 9 to 13 and July 23 to 27.

These courses are designed to give you a taste of what it is like to train as a professional footballer and are open to 5-16-year-old boys and girls. We are hopeful that members of the Saints first team squad will pay a visit at some stage.

The cost is £75, which includes a family match ticket for a Saints game as well as full training kit.

Book and pay online at www. saintsinthecommunity.co.uk. We can still accept applications for next week’s course on Monday.

SUMMER GOALGETTERS

We also have a series of two-day sessions for 5-16-year-olds at McDiarmid and across the county. No need to book, just turn up and pay £5 on the day. Everyone who attends will get a family ticket for a Saints home game.

Dates are: McDiarmid Park from 1-2.30pm on July 16/17 and July 18/19. Pitlochry Recreation Ground - 10.30am– noon on July 9/10. Aberfeldy Home Street Pitch - 1.30– 3pm on July 9/10. Blairgowrie Campus - 10.30am-noon on July 11/12.

In addition, there are opportunities for pre-school boys and girls. Mini kidz sessions (for age three to five-year-olds) will go ahead at McDiarmid from 1 to 2pm on July 18 and 19. There is no need to book. Just turn up and pay £4. Sessions for goalkeepers (nine to 16-year-olds) are also planned, 1 to 2.30pm on July 18/19. Cost is £5, payable on the day.

WALK FOOTBALL

Walk Football sessions are held at McDiarmid Park every Thursday from 7.30 to 8.30pm and are ideal for those 50 and over. We have some spaces available for this group and welcome new players. Cost is £4, which is payable on the night. No need to book.

SAINTS TEASER

Last week: Ian Gibson scored a hat-trick for Saints in a 6-3 win at East Fife in August, 1983. This week: Aberdeen are the visitors to McDiarmid Park on Sunday. In April 2010 we managed a 3-1 win at Pittodrie. Which former Celtic player scored two of our goals?
