Almondbank

St Serf’s Church The service last Sunday was conducted by Mr Michael Archibald and his sermon was based on the past, the present and the future. Alison Hooper was the organist and she also read the lessons. The flowers were kindly donated by Margaret and Mary Jamieson. Parishione­rs are reminded that the annual summer fayre will be held on Saturday, August 11, in the church grounds, followed by the duck race. There are still plenty of ducks for sale for this event. The service this Sunday will be conducted by Mr Archibald and will be made most welcome.

Alyth

Church Morning worship last Sunday took place at 11am and was conducted by Rev Mike Erskine. The kirk shop took place during that week and closed on the Saturday. Once again, it was very successful and £11,823 was raised for church funds. The worship service this Sunday, July 15, will be at 11am. Refreshmen­ts will be served after the service. The Sunday school is now closed during the summer holidays. All events and services are open to everyone. Family history project Alyth family history project is open on Sunday afternoons, from 2pm to 4pm in Alyth Parish Church. The project includes thousands of photograph­s of people, events, schools, businesses, weddings, children and views, etc. Admission is free. Bowling Club Numbers in this week’s lotto draw were 3, 15, 18 and 20. There were no winners; prize money next week will now amount to £1050.

Bankfoot

Church The service on Sunday, July 15, will be conducted by the Rev Adrian Lough at the usual time of 11.15am. All welcome. Church Centre Café and Softplay The café will be open every week day morning as usual for the next three weeks. All are welcome to come and enjoy a snack or bring their children along to the softplay area. Both the cafe and soft play areas will be on holiday for two weeks commencing July 23. Afternoon teas The next summer afternoon teas event will take place in Bankfoot Church Centre on Saturday, July 21, from 2pm to 4pm. Afternoon tea will be served with entertainm­ent provided by Rural Blend. Tickets cost £8 and these are on sale at the café. Summer holiday messy church The summer holiday messy church event will take place in Bankfoot Church Centre on Sunday, August 5, from 3pm to 5pm. This will include a family tea at 5pm. Entry is free and donations would be welcomed. Barbecue A barbecue evening for all will take place at the Active Kids adventure park on Friday, August 10, from 6pm for both the messy church members and the Sunday morning congregati­ons. Messy church The next messy church will be held in Luncarty Church Centre on Sunday, August 12, between 3pm and 5pm. This will be followed by a family tea at 5pm. Entry is free, but donations would be welcomed.

Church Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev Andy Graham and the readings were given by J Morison from Two Corinthian­s chapter 12, verses 2-10 and Mark chapter six, verses 1-13. Blackwater

Hall committee The annual barbecue and roasts night will be held on Saturday, August 4, at the Blackwater Hall from 7.30pm. There will be a licensed bar and raffle provided at the event.
