Provost Walk official opening
A popular walking and cycling route in Auchterarder will be officially opened next month.
The team at Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust have been working hard to complete the £260,000 upgrade of Provost Walk.
With the new upgrades, the path will now be able to cater for all walking and cycling abilities, as well as wheelchairs.
The opening will take place on Saturday, August 18, from 2pm until 4pm.
It will also mark the start of the next phase of upgrades to Provost Walk which are due to start in the autumn.
A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust said: “We will be gathering just along from the start of the new path at the public park off Western Road – sometimes known as the Jubilee or Primrose Park.
“Following the ribbon-cutting, there will be the opportunity for a gentle stroll along the 576-metre section of new and upgraded path, to where it joins phase one, with an opportunity to view the adjoining 1100-metre phase three section of path which we hope will be upgraded next.
“Once back at the park, we can enjoy some refreshments and take the opportunity to meet with those responsible for the success of this project.”
The trust have asked for as many people as possible who plan to come to the official opening to car share to avoid the car park overflowing and blocking the entry to the recycling centre.
The event is free to attend and can be booked in advance at www.pkct.org
