Vicky Turnbull, Tayside warden with RSPB Scotland shakes on the deal with Andy Marshall, president of the Kinross-shire Agricultural Society The popular Kinross Show has secured a new lease for the land it takes place on, bringing the event venue securely up to 2022.

The signed contract between the landowners RSPB Scotland Loch Leven and the organisers Kinross-shire Agricultural Society secures the annual show’s home on the southern banks of Loch Leven for the next five years.

Kinross Show has been held at the RSPB reserve since 2012 and is now one of the area’s most popular summer attractions, bringing nearly 3000 visitors and over 300 exhibitors to the one-day event.

The contract secures the use of the 13-hectare site which covers two fields until 2022. The showground includes a large car-parking area and access for the free buses that run throughout show day. Vicky Turnbull, Tayside warden with RSPB Scotland, said:“We are delighted to agree a new lease and provide assurance for the use of the showground for years to come.

“It’s very exciting to have the Kinross Show here on the nature reserve. Making the fields available for the committee to transform into an extraordinary rural event, that attracts so many visitors, is a very worthwhile way to support our local community.”

Andy Marshall, president of the Kinross-shire Agricultural Society, added: “We really appreciate the good communication and positive working relationship with everyone at the reserve and are looking forward to making the final preparations for this year’s event, which takes place on Saturday, August 11.”
