City centre road closures due to fayre

- Robbie Chalmers

Perth’s Medieval Fayre event is going to cause road closures in the city centre next weekend with changes to traffic management, parking and servicing arrangements.

The roads closing are the High Street from it’s junction with George Street and Scott Street, King Edward Street, St John’s Place, Kirkgate, Kirkside, South St John’s Place and St John’s Street.

These changes will take place from noon on Friday, August 10 until Sunday, August 12 at 5pm.

The Fair City will be hosting the event on Saturday, August 11 and will celebrate Medieval Perth providing education, fun and interactive activities throughout the day.

A spokesperson on behalf of the council said:“This will be with respect to Perth’s Medieval Fayre which was held last year and was a great success.

“We will ensure that all road closures are removed as soon as possible following the event and all roads will be open to traffic once the infrastructure is cleared.”

Alternate parking routes and parking arrangements can be organised for those with private parking spaces.

Drivers are to provide the council with their registration number and the location of the car park to receive information on how to access the car park or to have another car park slot arranged.

Companies are asked to take in deliveries before 10am on Saturday, August 11 on the High Street as access will be limited after this time.

Stewards will man each road closure.
