Creative types are being offered a double bill of art and history at an event in Blair Atholl.
‘Sketches of the Past’ on August 11 is a free excursion to Blair Atholl Watermill led by Highland Perthshire-based illustrator Dylan Gibson and history enthusiast Peter Barr, who will give a fascinating narative to the places encountered on the walk.
At a relaxed pace,Peter and Dylan will offer their time and tips during the morning of outdoor sketching. Taking in Blair Atholl, there will be the nice countryside and features to inspire and the stories that go with them,but also excercises to help hand-eye coordination and proportions for budding artists.
The group will be going to look at the Blair Atholl Watermill, where they will stop for lunch and a tour after drawing its rustic stonework.
Dylan is accustomed to working with people of all artistic abilities through his work with the Adult Education Association,

With Peter Barr explaining the history of the locations they walk to for sketching, it promises to be an enjoyable way to spend a summer morning.
