04 ABERFELDY: Music - Singers Syd House and Nicola Cowmeadow of PlaidSong will perform some of the well-known songs of Lady Nairne, the ‘Perthshire songstress’, Castle Menzies, 7pm. Free but donations welcome and will all go towards the appeal for a new gravestone for Perthshire plant collector Archibald Menzies.

12 PERTH: Perth Highland Games will take place at Scone Palace with a mix of piping, heavyweigh­t competitio­ns, cycling and running, Highland dancing, gift stalls, solo piping and the very popular pipe band contest with large numbers of overseas bands taking part. On from 9am-5pm.

16 PERTH: 7.45pm Elvis Presley’s legendary film ’68 Comeback directed and produced by Steve Binder, including the 90 minutes television special concert which was Presley’s first live television performanc­e in seven years, will hit the big screen again for one night only in celebratio­n of its 50th anniversar­y, Perth Playhouse, 7.45pm.
