Major disruption as works delayed
Motorists have been hit with 45-minute long queues in Perth after delays to roadworks.

Cars have been queued up, meaning motorists are waiting 45 minutes to get from Inveralmond to the city centre - a journey that normally takes less than 10 minutes.
the works, which include updating traffic lights and resurfacing both the carriageways and the pavements, were Lines of traffic have been blocking up Dunkeld Road due to be completed this weekend. However, the works have been delayed and will now go on into next week, leaving more traffic disruption for motorists coming in and out of the city.
A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said:“the road maintenance works taking place on Dunkeld road in Perth will be completed next week.
“the works were due to be completed on sunday, August 5, but there was a slight delay due to the location of underground services.
“the works include the refurbishment of traffic lights, which will be made operational on Friday, August 10, and footway/carriageway resurfacing.
“temporary three-way traffic lights are in place to assist and are manually controlled throughout the day in an attempt to reduce the impact of the works.”
the spokesperson added:“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the works and thank you for your cooperation.”
the roadworks are now expected to be completed by Friday, August 10, and temporary traffic lights will be in place until the works are finished.
