-

Perthshire artists are all signed up to show off the beautiful things they create in their home studios.

Perthshire Open studios (POs), involving 140 artists and makers this year, has been distributing its september brochures.

Over nine days (september 1-9) people will be encouraged to take a walk or drive following the seven colour-coded routes taking them to meet the creatives in situ.

the Blue route takes in 12 locations centred around Perth while the Orange route leads you around 28 hot spots for art in Blairgowrie.

Painters, potters, woodworkers, jewellery makers and a multitude of other creative people will display their wares in everything from cottages and converted barns to galleries and tearooms.

this is the 11th year of POs and cofounder Luisa ramazzotti, said:“Artists and makers all across the region are busy creating wonderful art and craft for this year’s open studios event.

“It’s a great chance to meet and chat to some remarkably talented people about their work and to see studios of every kind in towns and villages, and tucked away up country lanes, in every part of this beautiful region.

“We hope the brochure with its coloured routes, studio locations and artist directory, together with lists of cafes and restaurants, helps visitors to have a wonderful time discovering the art and the inspiring landscapes of Perth and Kinross.”

the POs brochure is now available from local visitor centres, libraries, arts venues, cafes and the artists themselves.

there will be two exhibitions at the Bield, tibbermore from August 25 to september 9 and at Pitlochry Festival theatre from september 1-28 september in addition to the main open studios.
