Perthshire businesswomen set for Yurt-working session
Women entrepreneurs from across rural Perthshire are getting together for a Women’s Enterprise Network meeting with a difference this month.
Monthly Women’s Enterprise Network meetings, facilitated by Blairgowrie-based enterprise support organisation GrowBiz, provide an informal and friendly opportunity for women who are thinking about starting up their own business, or have already started their entrepreneurial journey to get together and network.
Events are held in east Perthshire, Highland Perthshire and Strathearn and are regularly attended by dozens of women in rural Perthshire.
And on August 15, all three groups will get together for a joint meeting in a large yurt at Railway Farm in Logierait near Pitlochry.
As well as enjoying the chance to network with like-minded women in rural Perthshire, those at the event will also hear from guest speaker Lynn Mann of Midlothian-based Supernature Oils.
Lynn and her husband Chris started Supernature Oils in 2011, producing cold pressed rapeseed oil and infused oils on their small, tenanted arm, which has been in their family for over 165 years.
Supernature Oils now has the broadest range of infused oils in the The Women’s Enterprise Network
UK and has become the most awarded cold pressed rapeseed oil in the country, with 10 national awards, out of over 30 producers in the UK.
Their award-winning white and black truffle oils have gained listings in Harrods, and they export to several countries.
Lynn is also a member of the National Council of Rural Advisers, on the advisory board of Interface and a Women’s Enterprise Scotland ambassador.
GrowBiz’s CEO Jackie Brierton is looking forward to the event and said:“We are delighted to welcome Lynn to this special Women’s Enterprise Network meeting.
“Lynn is an inspirational woman, both in terms of running her own successful business and also her commitment to working towards
ensuring the rural economy in Scotland has a bright and sustainable future and that the part women play in that future is acknowledged and supported.
“We’re also very excited to be bringing all three of our Women’s Enterprise Networks together for the first time, giving women from across rural Perthshire the opportunity to meet those from other areas who are running their own enterprises.”
The Women’s Enterprise Network meeting takes place at Railway Farm, Logierait, from 6pm to 8.30pm on Wednesday, August 15.
It is free to attend but as food is provided, booking is essential for catering purposes.
