A brolly good show as Braco braves heavy rain
Judges and competitors in the early rounds of judging at Braco Show dodged the torrential rain that fell mid morning sending most scurrying under trees and umbrellas and into the hospitality tent.
However, the hardy competitors in the sheep ring braved the elements for the championship judging and those already underway in the pony sections carried on with their rounds.
Lodge Park was the venue for the showcase of the area’s finest specimens and Strathearn breeders were prominent in the prizes.
Afterwards, Ardoch Agricultural Society secretary Rebecca Mackie said:“It was a great show with a friendly atmosphere despite being the wettest 24 hours we’ve had for weeks if not months.
“We are so delighted that people came out and supported the show despite the rain and made it the day it was. Maybe next year we will get a dry day.”
Overall cattle champion breeder was WA Peters of Monzie. Overall sheep champion came from the Zwartbles of A Baird.
