08 STRATHEARN: Talk - Friends of Innerpeffr­ay Library, Rita Bradd speaks on The Final Voyage of the Clipper Ship ‘City of Adelaide’, Rita travelled with the 1864 clipper on board a cargo ship on a 22,000km voyage to Australia, Innerpeffr­ay Library Schoolroom, 7pm for 7.30pm.Tickets: £5 for FOIL members, £7 for guests. All are welcome.

10 PERTH: Event - Blend in, Stand out at BLEND coffee lounge. Local acts performing poetry slam and music, hosted by spoken word artist Rana Marathon. BYOB and raffle from 6.30pm.

11 PERTH: Event - The first ever Perthshire Pride will be held on Horsecross Plaza with live music, stalls, food and speakers celebratin­g the region’s LGBT community from 1pm. An after party at Bar 44 will be held from 8pm.

11 PERTH: Event - Medieval Fayre across the city centre with re-enactments, music and traditiona­l medieval food throughout the day.

12 BLAIRGOWRI­E: Event - Blairgowri­e and Rattray Arts Week, ‘poetry, pie and pint’ with poets Jim Mackintosh, Jon Plunkett and musician Hamish McGregor, Cargill’s Bistro, 3pm.

12 PERTH: Perth Highland Games will take place at Scone Palace with a mix of piping, heavyweigh­t competitio­ns, cycling and running, Highland dancing, gift stalls, solo piping and the very popular pipe band contest with large numbers of overseas bands taking part. On from 9am-5pm.

12 PERTH: Event - Perth Pet Care, Doggy Day Care are having a ‘wrinkle riot’ party for all pugs, Frenchies and Boston terriers. Tickets £8 per person with a max of two dogs per owner on sale now. 12 PERTH: Music - Perth singer, Kenneth Maciver headlines a concert of opera, songs from the shows and Scottish numbers, supported by fellow Jambouree singers Liam Bonthrone, Moira Duncan and Teenah Bee, St Leonard’s in the Fields Church, 7.30pm. Free entry, although donations of £10 or more suggested.

16 PERTH: Event - 7.45pm Elvis Presley’s legendary film ’68 Comeback Special, directed and produced by Steve Binder, including the 90 minutes television special concert which was Presley’s first live television performanc­e in seven years, will hit the big screen again for one night only in celebratio­n of its 50th anniversar­y, Perth Playhouse, 7.45pm.

17 PERTH: Event - Fair Trade fashion show, models from age two to 80+ with Perth baritone Kenneth MacIver as compere, St Leonard’s Church Hall.

17 PERTH: Music - Rock and soul band Plan B from Australia stop off at The Green Room on their UK tour. Music starts at 8pm, entry is free.

25 KIRKMICHAE­L: Highland games Strathardl­e Highland Games, Bannerfiel­d.

25 BIRNAM: Highland games Birnam Highland Games will be held in Little Dunkeld games field.

25 PERTH: Music - Karaoke with Billy Tully, Auld Hoose, 8.30pm. Free entry.

25 STANLEY: Music - The Solid Gold Band will perform their relaunch gig at the Tayside Hotel. Tickets cost £5 from the hotel or by calling 01738 828249.

25 PITLOCHRY: Music - Chunks, a cover band from Oban, plays The Old Mill. Music from 9pm, entry is free.

26 PERTH: Music - The summer punks’ all-dayer at The Green Room. Top bands from across the UK to perform including Kaddish, Uniforms, The Burnt Tapes, Cherym, Bird Law, Goodbye Blue Monday, Lou McLean, and The Hypocrites. There will also be an acoustic stage, food and a record sale. Doors open at 2pm, entry free.

26 SCONE: Event - Alice and Wonderland themed day at Scone Palace. Actors from Perth’s Ad-Lib Theatre Arts will be dressed up as the Tweedle-Dee, the Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit. Families can dress up and enjoy games and afternoon tea with the Mad Hatter at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Entry costs £7.50, children £5.50, Scone Palace season ticket holders free.

31 PERTH: Music - Scoogz plays live, Auld Hoose, 9pm. Free entry.
