Colours will run with Touch of Tartan

-

The fittest and fastest in Perth will be taking on a gruelling half-marathon this weekend.

This year’s Touch of Tartan half-marathon will take place from 11am on Saturday.

The 13-mile route will leave from Perth Airport in Scone, follow scenic pathways and roads and eventually finish on the North Inch.

The route is the same as last year’s half-marathon and includes a mixture of unclassified roads, tarmac, forest trails and paths, which may be muddy.

There will be one main crossover point, which will be controlled throughout the race by police.

Runners need to be over 18 and need to wear some form of tartan.

As the route is a half-marathon organisers suggest wearing a a tartan ribbon, t-shirt, headband or socks rather than a full eavy kilt.

Throughout the morning a free Tartan Express shuttle bus will run on a loop between Bell’s Sports Centre and Perth Airport to take runners and their fans to and from the start line.

To enter the Touch of Tartan halfmarathon, sign up online for £18 at www. strava.com/activities/659562239

Runners have a maximum of three hours to complete the half-marathon.
