M90roadworks
Overnight drainage works are to be carried out on the M90 between Bridge of Earn and Broxden, Perth, starting on Monday, August 20.
To help minimise disruption on the busy route, which is used by around 30,000 vehicles every day, the works will start at 7.30pm and will be completed by 6.30am the following morning.
A slip road closure will be in place with a signed diversion to create a safe working area.
Local traffic for Perth centre will be diverted off the M90 at junction nine in Bridge of Earn and will follow the A912 into Perth.
Traffic for A9 north and south Will be diverted M90 northbound, to Barnhill Circulatory, back M90 southbound to junction ten in Craigend.
Consultation has taken place with local residents in advance of the resurfacing to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Commenting on the improvements, Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east unit representative, said: “These works will form part of a cycle of cleaning and investigation works to highlight issues within the road drainage, leading to potential future improvement works at this location.
“The works have been scheduled to minimise delays, however, we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting www.trafficscotland.org or twitter @trafficscotland.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
