A perfect landing on bowling green

-

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) landed on the bowling green at Comrie to attend a man having a heart attack.

SCAA paramedics worked with land crew colleagues before airlifting the patient to Ninewells Hospital at Dundee.

The past week has also seen SCAA take to the air to help a little girl who needed an urgent transfer from Lochgilphead to advanced hospital care at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital at Glasgow.

A SCAA teddy was deployed to help comfort the youngster on her journey and on into the hospital.

SCAA has made the flight to Bute twice in the past week – firstly to airlift a critical care team from Glasgow to an emergency on the island and again, 24 hours later, to attend a medical emergency and airlift a possible stroke patient to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A pregnant woman on the island of Tiree required SCAA’s service when she needed urgent transfer to advanced care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley.

SCAA was also called to a medical emergency at a coastal town in Angus where they helped treat a seriously ill teenager.

SCAA paramedics worked alongside land crew colleagues before the patient was transferred by road ambulance to Ninewells Hospital at Dundee.

Both SCAA paramedics travelled in the ambulance with the patient to provide continuous care.

Collecting cans prove a valuable income stream for SCAA with around £175,000 donated by the public in this way since the air ambulance charity launched.

Locally placed ones being emptied and counted at the charity’s base this week include: Brig Farm Shop, Bridge of Earn £100.21; The Co-op, Bridge of Earn £30.94; The Country Store, Kinloch Rannoch £45.25; Cyprus Inn, Bridge of Earn £23.79; Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Perth £46.30; Last Cast, Bridge of Earn £27.10; Longforgan Village Shop £222.21; Moncreiffe Care Home, Perth £53.28 and the Old Filling Station, Aberfeldy £20.10.
